Foam Filled Fender Form China
In harbours and shipping, collisions between ships and terminals are a common risk. To protect ships, port facilities and offshore platforms from damage, foam-filled fenders provide the ideal solution. Designed to cope with extreme marine environments, they are resistant to environmental factors such as high and low temperatures, hydrocarbons, fresh and salt water, UV rays and ozone. Even when exposed to strong chemicals, such as diesel fuel, the outer skin of the fender still protects the internal structure.
Unlike traditional Yokohama inflatable fenders, foam fenders marine use a solid thermally laminated foam core. It does not need to maintain air pressure, inflation or relief values. This design not only reduces maintenance costs, but also increases product reliability and durability. Polyurethane fenders consist of three main parts: a polyurethane elastomer skin, a reinforcing fibre layer and a polyethylene foam core.
Polyurethane elastomer skin: hardness up to 75-95 Shore A, tear resistance >52 N/mm, excellent abrasion and impact resistance.
Reinforcement fibre layer: high strength fibres of 2520 denier with a tensile strength of ≥ 230 N, providing excellent structural stability.
Polyethylene closed-cell foam core: with a density of 58-70 kg/m³ and a water absorption rate of less than 1%, it has a high energy absorption capacity while maintaining a lightweight design.
